David,
A few years ago, a drunk lady ran over a 11 year old boy, killed him and left the scene.
Cops had an idea what kind of car ran the boy over from the parts of car left behind.
Well they went to the lady's house and her dad had covered up the accident by putting deer blood on the car and claimed his daughter hit a deer.
Years later the truth came out. A cop told me, She would have gotten in more trouble, possible jail time for kill someone while drunk. So all she got charged with was leaving the scene of an accident. It's like she got a slap on the hands.
Isn't it sad to think the best thing for a drunk to do is leave the scene of an accident? I wonder how many drunks know that?
