I use them in the RV since so many locations we travel to have poor service and YES my cell phone booster amplifier (not Wilson but a knock off) works great, more bars and much better performance. In addition to my cell phone booster amp, I shopped until I could find an older Verizon Jetpack Mobile Hotspot THAT HAD THE EXTERNAL ANTENNA PORT and that also improves performance when coupled to my external antenna. Some Jetpacks DO NOT have the external antenna port and I recommend one that does. When using my cell phone signal booster amplifier with the rooftop antenna, instead of the furnished 5 inch tall antenna I have one that's nearly 5 feet tall with more gain and it works MUCH better.
SUMMARY My cell signal booster with amplifier (not Wilson) works great and significantly improves performance and my Verizon Jetpack Mobile Hotspot works better if I add the external antenna
OTHERS MAY HAVE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES I can ONLY report on how MY TWO UNITS perform which is GREAT.
