Many years ago we had an old Chevette that I drove to work. It was a snowy, icy day and took off on my normal route, which in the language of today we would call the 'hood. Part of that route was a high and steep overpass over a series of railroad tracks. The little Chevette and it's skinny tires wouldn't make it up the hill this day and just spun. There I was holding up traffic when an African-American, inner city guy pulled up in his old pick up, hooked me up with a tow strap and pulled me up the hill. He just unhooked and waived and took off, never did get a chance to thank him properly.
Coming back from a llama show we stopped at a Bob Evans for dinner. Some folks that we had an acquaintance with from the shows and events, and were also nationally known big time breeders, were there just finishing up their dinner. We got seated and ordered and they left, we waived our goodbyes. When it came time to pay, the waitress said your friends paid for your dinner and she handed us the check. On it was written "Thanks for all you do and all your support". I never thought we did all that much, just what we could do to help at shows and serve on associations, etc. Apparently they thought it was a lot and appreciated it.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
