What changed? That's easy! Amazing leaps in medical technology.......BEFORE socialized healthcare took over this country! This isn't just politics, as it involves everyone from all sides, as well as those who take "no" side. Now with the younger generation being raised with this as the norm, and older folks that have coverage who never worked hard before to have any, now it's like a dream come true for the masses. But there's still a generation or two of us who still remember the truth of it all - that this socialized medicine mess is RUINING the amazing medical leaps that used to be evolving here in our own country. Yes, there's still a few amazing things, but not nearly like there used to be. And there are now other countries that have picked up the pace and are even surpassing the USA on medical breakthroughs.
Yes, it's an easy thing to answer how this happened. The hard thing is trying to figure out how to get back to being the innovative leaders that we used to be. At this point in time, I'm not even sure it's possible. Too much damage so far, and way too many people that just don't understand or don't care, and many who do care, but refuse to speak out for fear of ridicule.
