I think a lot of businesses today just use the TV and news ads as bait to get you interested in their product.
Then they expect you to do further research online to find the local branches, hours, prices, availability, etc.
Many online stores have no store at all. Just someone with a web address that takes orders, sources the product from multiple warehouses, has them drop shipped from there. When there is no phone number, they don't want to communicate by phone. Can't say I really blame them, having a phone means 9 out of 10 calls are telemarketers.
But what gets my goat is trying to get information on a product. They spend mega bucks advertising, then won't answer the phone, won't return calls, refuse to reply to email. Or someone does answer and has no clue what their product is, does, costs, or how to order it!
