One thing that will help is when you are plowing the next to last pass is to "shallow up" your plow. Then when you make the dead furrow you just knock off the last small strip. Many keep the plow set at the previous depth and if plowing 8" deep end up with a 16" deep dead furrow. If done right with the plow set at 8" deep the dead furrow can be done at less than that and look very nice. Was taught this many years ago. Mike
