rusty, normally I agree with you on most everything but now I beg to differ. I have replaced all bulbs in the house with LED and for the last 5 years nt a problem. Actual electric used dropped some but the life of the bulbs was what I was after. Good light also. I just remember that one of the first one quit after a few days so I took it back and the new one is still shining
