I have not checked the CA pinion shaft beside the C pinion shaft to see if they would interchange. The left side solid pinion shaft from a CA will work on the right side to give you a solid shaft. For old duffers that have problems in rotating the upper half of their body can switch the hand clutch to the left side by switching the pinion shafts from side to side to make it easier to run left side cutting combines and such. The deck plate was stamped for a hand clutch knock out on both sides. I have a CA with both pinion shafts solid.
