I have degenerate disk disease and have had ever since a guy thought I was a punching bag. I take a pain pill when I get up every morning and one at night. Both are anti-inflammatory pain pills so in theory it helps things from getting worse. My doctor force me to retire when he found I was driving truck for a living and told me to limit how much I drove and to take a break every time I drove for an hour or more or I would end up in a wheel chair. So when I do things I work an hour and then take an hour break. Just how life is any more and you have to learn to live with it. Plus it doesn't help to also have a bad right knee and right shoulder and stomach problems. Shoot now days just to mow the lawn it takes me hours to do what should take me less then an hour. Shoot right now the wife is out pushing the mower around the yard. LOL
