Basil and marigolds would be a expensive proposition on a 1 acre field lol! I have used that trick on a small scale before in the garden with mixed results... Guess mabye they have heavy years and light years.
I have to look and see about getting an applicators licence probably for doing an entire acre, plus it's for profit not personal use.
One thing that may be a problem that I forgot to mention is that this field is also located on a public watershed, not only that but the public drinking supply resivor is less than 1000 feet from the field and there is also a major creek about 50 feet from the field that empties into that resivor. There is a lake monitor that does regular patrols and would probably get grumpy if he sees anyone spraying.
