My first one was repaired without mesh, since I wouldn't need it per the doc. The second one got the mesh. some time after that, I developed another on the same side as the first- one of the sports hernias way over by the hip. The third one repaired was the umbilical, and that hurt the worst afterwards- had little kids at that time, hard not to pick them up and wrestle around...
