As to the mask... I have allergies.. and my nose is mostly plugged, so..... a full mask is a must...
If your nose is clear, then the smaller nasal mask works fine. But you must breath through your nose and keep your mouth shut. My nose is not clear and I have to breath through my mouth most nights. How ever the filter in the cpap cleans the air and I actually am able to breath through my nose by morning... so its bass ackwards...
and yes.. when I dream, I hold my breathe, so I can see it clearer... Yes, it sounds weird, but in the REM portion, I actually concentrate on the dream, and would then wake up gasping for air... some folks apparently dont do this, and others do...
And yes, I snore, and thankfully the cpap fixes the snoring so my wife can sleep, and also she no longer worries about me gasping for breath every 20 minutes or so...
And yes, its takes a bit to get used to, but.. I sleep better, and feel more rested. I will probably live longer...
As to the water, I dont use the water or moisture part, but do wake up with a very dry mouth every morning.
