All the stats are loosing potential income from no sales taxes being collected on out of state purchase. Sooner than later we will be paying sales taxes on all out of state purchases...
If they don't start colleting sales taxes from out of state purchases they will eventually increase your income / property taxes to level out the balances or increase your local sales taxes to compensate for the lost revenue.
We will pay it one way or the other, whether we pay it in sales taxes, income taxes, or property taxes.
I would rather pay it in sales taxes as I feel the rich person is and will buy more things as well as more expensive things.
