The photo shows a Northern Tool NorthStar 3-section boom, Item# 268716, that’s described as having a 10-foot spray pattern. It came with 3 nozzles. The boom, when extended, actually measures 7 feet and cost $160.
Nozzles, valves and a variety of fittings are available from the Northern site. The boom comes with one shut-off valve. I ordered enough fittings to plumb a shut-off valve for each of the 3 nozzles.
The boom is close to the ground because a somewhat precise edge to the end nozzles spray fan was wanted when spraying the edge of the gravel road and parking areas.
The sprayer is a 26-gallon NorthStar spot sprayer, Item# 2681201, 2.2 GPM. They’re good sprayers but come with a cheap plastic wand that has never lasted a season. I bought one new replacement wand that leaked out of the box. After that, I bought the Valley Industries ‘Deluxe Spot Spray Gun,’ Item# 25136. It’s been a good’un.
