A guy around here was stealing cars and trucks and using them to break into people's sheds. I lost a brand new $200 paint sprayer. He made sure not to take anything of major value or break into people's house. When he was done he'd dump the vehicle, hock what he stole and buy drugs. He even stole someone's truck that had a rifle hanging in it. He was smart enough not to touch it. The police knew who it was and had plenty of witnesses but amazingly couldn't find him. When they did catch up with him he was convicted of 17 counts of car theft. He was sentenced to a little over a year in prison. He's got about a month left and he'll be released and back at it.
