Evening everyone, looking for some info help. I am having wire and charging issue on my Long 460, at one point the original alternator was replaced with a GMC 2 wire alternator, I have the original and had it tested and works, having new bearings put in it I hope it takes care of the issue. I know it takes a lot of power to run the starter but I seem to have a power drain issue as the only thing that seems to be running is the starter, thermo starter and an electric fuel pump.
The electric fuel pump is the other issue, some point it was put in to replace the hand lift pump. I will be replacing the lift pump at some point, the electric pump runs all the time if the key is on, drawing power all the time. If I put this on a toggle switch and shut it off after the engine is running would the injector pump pull fuel through this pump ok and keep the tractor running?
