Daughter moved to Baker Oregon a few years ago. Old mining town from the 1800's.Main street is 80 or so feet wide so they had room to turn the wagons around.
We went to see her, she was working at the historical Gieser Hotel, nice place all fixed up. Stopped in to have a drink (1)
SIL said some believe the basement is haunted, the basement has a lot of old pictures and exhibits from the era.
Went down there alone nobody there, talking out loud "this place isn't haunted"...last I remember,am told I went up and finished my drink and walked outside, couple of hours later SIL went looking for me, stopped in at a bar and they were talking about some guy walking down the middle of the road shouting "this ain't my town I'm going home" 4 hours later I woke up to my cell phone ringing, SIL goes "where are you at, what do you see?"I told him and he came to pick me up. I didn't remember a thing, nada.
Iv'e been back but give a wide berth to the Gieser.
The cast and crew of Gold Rush (the show) were filming in the area for a few months and stayed there for a week, then went to another hotel for the same reason.
