I don't like to borrow or loan anything to anyone either. If I borrow anything (very seldom) I try my best to return it as soon as I'm done with it and in better shape than I found it. Several years ago I bought a new Stihl chainsaw and loaned it to a family member. When it was returned it had a hole knocked in the bar oil tank. When I asked about it he told me that it fell out of the back of his truck. He made no offer to repair the saw. Lessons learned.
