That sounds like a plan, but if you change the tail lights to LED, the fuse is not needed. (all trailers pulled by that rig should have LED bulbs. The wiring systems have been reduced in gauge in the last ten years. I would not trust it with added lamps. Do the remaining turn/brake lights work on the trailer? and do they work on the truck? Jim
