Make sure the PTO clutch works as should. And the steering like to develop a lot of wander. IF THE GAS VERSION THE GOVENER DOES NOT LIKE TO BE EASILY SET TO PTO SPEED ANF HOLD IT. Cap got acidently turned on. The govener and PTO same on a 4000. I had 2 4000 and 1 5000 all gas. And had to have pto rebuilt on both a 4 & 5000, nothing to be done to hold that PTO speed acording to Ford dealer that was the best slecto-speed mechanic I ever heard of. Could do nothing for the wander on the 5000, could not use it on the road hauling grain because of that. All that I would still take them over any new generation Deere.
