Depends on the leak. It causes rubber to swell so works sometimes. Most dramatic event I ever had with it was a rear main seal in an engine. It sealed that up completely after about a say and a half.
I don't remember the name of another similar product that I used a year ago that was supposed to be even better,but that stuff melted the seal and stuck the rubber right to the shaft. I won't use that stuff again (if I can remember what it was).
