I never really understood them either, but I had a really good teacher. I saw him fix knotters over the phone!! At one time, I had a book that NH put out that was knotters only. It had about twice as much info as in the Operators manual. It said if the string on a bad knot was so long, it meant one thing. If it was a different length, it was something else wrong. And was it the top string or the bottom string?? I later went to work for a Deere dealer, and that book went with me. Their knotters had the same problems, just different adjustment specs. I can still fix a knotter, just takes me a bit longer!!
