Just the other evening I set a live trap outside the pet door in our garage to try to catch a stray cat that's been getting at our cats' cat food. Got a skunk instead.
I wasn't about to go over and pick up the trap.
I keep three firearms in the house, a .380 pistol, a lever action 30-30 rifle, and a 12 gauge pump shotgun. I took the rifle. Even though a 30-30 is 'way overkill for shooting a skunk I figured I had only one chance at it. My wife was afraid I was going to blow the new siding on the house all to hell. Blew the skunk all to hell, instead. We got a little smell, but not the whole load.
