I'll bite on this, though only because my opinion has changed in the last few years.
I think the climate is changing as a result of human activity, although I think the scope and causes are different from what is typically spouted out. However, vast swathes of previously productive land in arid and semi-arid regions are now reduced to almost nothing.
I think a big part of what we see is due to historically poor agricultural and husbandry practices which as lead to significant depletion of soil carbon content and vegetative cover.
I also think these practices are changing, slowly but surely, for the better. Part of that is improved pasture management in arid regions. Alan Savory has a very interesting presentation on it (with some amazing before / after comparisons) here:
It's win-win - it increases local productivity in a lot of these arid soils by rebuilding the carbon content and restarting nutrient cycling while improving their livestock carrying capacity. And all the extra carbon retained in the soil is carbon pulled out of the atmosphere. Win-win!
