That is what prompted my post as I was told same thing a few years back by dealer. However, I will ask them again as it seems that policy must have changed. I appreciate everyone responding. I had to replace starter in this frigid weather the other day and thinking a block heater would be good to install. Never failed to start even at -3 this past Tuesday but at that temp she deserves some heat. I looked at the heater on day I bought starter but didn't buy it. Decided to get one next day but it had been sold. Thought about having them order me one but dealer was not able to help me determine exactly where it should be installed. Their engine diagram shows two larger "freeze plugs" one on front and one on back of block. At the same time there are, I believe, ten (10) smaller looking plugs running along side of block. Side install would be an easy fix but front or back install not so. A manual would be handy as Dealer is an hour away from Farm. Thanks again.
