Back in the 70's, I looked at an International Travel All-4x4 that a guy had for sale. He didn't have a winch but he told me that if he got stuck somewhere hunting, he had a big length of heavy rope which he somehow attached to one of his driveshafts and the other end to a sturdy tree. Once back in the truck, he put it in gear and away he went with the driveshaft and rope serving as a winch. Never saw it happen, maybe he was BS'ing me. Anyone ever hear of this kind of procedure?
