To answer your inquiry it was George Conneman. The reason I made it its own thread was because of a letter I received from him several years ago before he passed. It was not personalized but I was touched that any instructor would care to make contact many years after having been there. It was in part to sell a book but the real purpose I suspect was that Conneman wanted to share his experiences as a professor there for many years which was the theme of the book. Unfortunately, his solicitation came at a time I just did not have the money for it so I had to pass it up. Maybe at some point when cash is more flush I will see if it is available through Cornell.
