Years ago I got a notice from California for an outstanding parking ticket in their state. Car in question had never been out of the state of Michigan and was in fact parked in front of my daughter's work place in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the time of the ticket. Several calls to city in California before they straightened it out. Had to send a copy of registration to them. About 6 months later we went through the same routine with them on that ticket. They were like a dog with a bone - wouldn't give up. Haven't heard from them since, so think they finally gave up.
