A couple months ago, the ranch I was operating sold. I was ready to get out of the hands on production of agriculture commodities. Been doing it since I was 6 years old, and am tired of the stress of poor markets, government encroachment and all the rest of the garbage. Wife got a job as an outside parts person for a Freightliner dealer and I was going to take sometime off, and regroup. Well.... I got bored staying at home, rented place, and too darn cold to do anything outside with my tractors, so I go to the local feed yard. sorta looking for something to keep me occupied while I figured out what I was gonna do with my life. They ask if I my CDL and have I ever hauled livestock? I say yes to both, but am ADAMANT I am not going to live in a truck. So far I have hauled cow POO with an old KW and sidedump trailer, an old AMC General(retired military) and 34 foot chain floor trailer. 3 days in a 644J John Deere payloader loading cow poo, and now am driving an 06 Freightliner Classic hauling fats. I feel just like when I was a little kid playing "trucks"in the yard!! I do really like hauling cows, but like to sleep to.:)
