Lots of D-17's around Southern Wisconsin. The younger brother had one, I plowed quite a bit with his. It would take 3-16's anywhere I wanted to go. Neighbor had another one that I used with a disc. It was a dry, windy spring, and sitting a bit low in the drivers seat, the rear tires kicked up enough dirt to make me feel like I was sandblasted by the end of the day.
Brother bought a D-19 Diesel that the motor was almost gone. Needed a sip of ether or it wouldn't start at all. Exhaust was pretty blue so we tore it down and found a small hole in one of the pistons. Reassembled it, and it ran like a new tractor. His neighbor drove it and he had to have it, so I didn't get a chance to really test it out.
Always wanted a D-14, but every one for sale around here has been high priced and well used, or as my Grampa used to say, "Rode Hard and Put Away Wet!"
