The market on the JD 5020 is all over the board. I see them sell for $4-6K that really look fairly good. Then you will see then bring in the lower or upper teens. The tractor that I owned was a 1972 model Row crop model, matched 20.8x38 axle dual radial tires, with just over 4500 original hours, original paint too.
You need to know the year as the 1970, 71 and 72 are the hot sellers right now. Then the one your looking at would be a rare one IF the hours would be correct. The trouble is I would bet the hours are just on the tach that is in now. If there is any way you could "prove" the hours then it would well be worth the asking price. So I would only be buying for $5k IF I knew more about it. The tractor would be worth that to own but I am not sure you could sell it in your area for a profit in the current market without a better history of the tractor.
