Only option out there if you need that style planter. Only one other company made a planter in that style you can still get parts for including plates and that was McCormick and there were at least a hundred Deere made for every single McCormick made acording to what was seen in my part of the country. In my 74 years I have seen only one of the McCormic planters and have seen hundreds of the Deere. Cockshutt made a planter of that style but you could not even get plates for one let alone other parts. Have never seen even a picture of any Oliver, Case, Moline, Massey 2 row tractor pulled wheel carried 2 row planters so they are only option if that style and size planter is wanted. Avaibility is what makes the prices, not the paint.And I have a friend that built a 2 row no till planter out of the JD 7000 planters for to be pulled with horses, he is in Indiana and I think they were shipped to Minisota. Couple of years ago was at his place and he had a full semi load ready to ship out. And he builds new Manure spreaders, cultimulchers and other machinery designed for the horses.
