Really, any residual that would be left is harmless. Just think how long your tractor has been going with what was in it. You think a few cups of that in 7 gallons of fresh is really going to do any harm?
In 6 months the oil's going to look milky again whether you waste a bunch of diesel fuel flushing it out, or not. My own personal opinion here, but I would not waste the diesel fuel.
