How many hours are on this tractor? It’s beginning to look like salvaging out what you have may be to best. There are engine cylinder boring bars that a savvy machinist can set up to sleeve the bearing mounting location but this will not be a cheap repair. If your dad was a mechanic in the area maybe he could talk to some of the local tractor dealers and see if they know anyone who could do this then find out what they would charge. One other thing it sounds like you are going to keep the tractor to use if you get it running. Most 20 acre hobby farms can’t utilize a 160hp tractor and unfortunately the fact that it has a synchro trans that probably knocks $1-3000 off the value compared to a PS or Quad. Since your in IL I doubt he’ll be interested in your tractor especially since it is split and not real easy to load on a truck. Good Luck sure is great you want to help out your Dad.
