Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see NH i'm having a hard time buying that story, I have had dozens of pumps rebuilt off dozers, tractors, trucks, loaders over the years. a good reputable hydraulic shop ( I use P.S.I.hydraulics) will have no problem rebuilding that pump. IF your old pump has serious issues, has been damaged, had a lot of metal go though it, etc they will call you and have you come in and look at it and they will recommend you get a new or rebuilt pump and SHOW you why. the dealers story you where told I have heard before, and that story is to get into your wallet for the $4 to $7k instead of $1500. for a proper rebuild. NH I had my yanmar B-6 excavator into P.S.I. last winter for a pump rebuild, and replaced most of the control valves (9 out of 13) and about 6 or 8 hyd hoses and the bill was under $8k.
