Here's a video of a former Speed Queen retailer/repair center in Ohio that used to RAVE about their products. He did a side-by-side test between a 2017 and 2018 year of the same model number, and the results were definitely saddening. Because of his videos, Speed Queen blacklisted him and ordered him to remove any and all Speed Queen literature, stock and signage from his store. They even tried to force him to remove his videos from Youtube. Here's two of his videos about the 2018 Speed Queen washers:
In this 3rd video from the same store, the guy actually takes a normal office stapler and, using just ONE staple, staples a large "Authorized Speed Queen" patch to a pair of pants. In any washer we've ever owned, one single staple would never have held. In the 2018 top-of-the-line Speed Queen, not only did the one staple hold, but the patch remained visible throughout the entire wash cycle.
We have a front load Maytag Neptune now and wife loves it. It was a great machine, but there was a common problem with the seal getting mold growth. Wife learned about that early on and has stayed on top of it. Now, she wants me to keep this thing running forever! *lol* Anyway, if the new Speed Queen had the spiral-type agitator like the top-load Maytag machines, I believe it would be a force to be reckoned with! As it is, however, I just don't see how it "can" get all the clothes clean.
