That IH "H" even with the belly mower is not a very hot seller. Maybe $1200-1500 around me. Maybe in other locations it will being more.
As for the salesman getting back to you. Did you call that salesman or just the dealership??? Call and leave him/her a voice message. If you do not hear back then you know directly he/they are not interested. The trouble with calling the dealership is often the message does not get to the salesman very timely. It is worse the larger the dealership.
Also the majority of JD salesmen are being paid on a percentage of net profit basis, so your trading in the IH "H" really makes it a not good deal for the salesman. The "H" will get marked with a low trade-in value so the original deal will show little to any profit. So the selling salesman will make little to nothing on the deal. Even on good lawn equipment sales your often only making $50-100 a sale. You can not spend much time doing that or you will starve.
