They're probably not getting back to you because the "vibe" you gave them was that you were expecting a huge allowance on either tractor towards the new machine. They expect when they come back to you with their offer of $500 trade in value, that you will blow your stack and they just don't want to deal with it.
Either of those tractors will go on the lot for $3000+ and sit there until some fool comes along and pays it, or they give up and send it off to a consignment auction where it will bring $500. They can't price it lower or take a lower offer. There's some universal dealer rule about that.
Suffice it to say they're not going to tie their profit up in a trade, so they're not going to give you anything for either tractor.
