I didn't know Ford was still building gassers then but maybe. It is the same as any other points ignition system. Check for spark at a plug wire and verify that you have a bright bluish white spark that will jump at least 5/16". Short or yellowish spark will Not do. If spark is poor or non existant it's most likely the points. Points are kind of a pia to check on a 3 cylinder Ford. Pull the spark plug wires right out of the tractor. Then pull the cap and dust cover. Use fine sand paper to clean points then pull a piece of brown grocery bag through. Adjust point gap to .025 Then reassemble. #1 plug is marked on the cap. Distributer turns counter clockwise. Firing order is 1, 2, 3. . #1 plug is at front of engine.
