I guess I have a different opinion of my Kubota M7040 than you do. It's handled several 100 probably 1000's of 4X5.5 rd bales with no problems. When AC compressor clutch failed on my JD 4255 the M7040 pulled my JD 467 rd baler for few 100 bales with no problems.Maybe the cast rear wheels & fluid in rear tires keeps mine from rocking making 4X5.5 rd bales. One thing is for sure the hyd shuttle has no relays to fail similar to a JD which I like as it's cable controlled.
