The photo of the mailbox reminds me of a small town near here.
The local businesses were setting up advertising signs in the middle of the road, a two sided sign mounted on what resembles a saw horse located in the middle of the road much like the mailbox.
Driving through town one day I heard a big bang, the wind had blown the sign into the side of my truck.
Stopped by and had a chat with the local authorities about this as the damage caused by the sign hitting my old 1 ton was not the end of the world but had it been someone in a newer vehicle it could have turned into an expensive repair.
The extent of what I was told was that I should go and speak with the town council about it as they did not really want to get involved with it.
What a waste of time, left there and circled around the block and wouldn't you know that fancy sign was still laying in the middle of the intersection when I made my left hand turn.
By the time the duals on the truck and tandems on the trailer passed over it any concern of the remaining pile of sticks causing damage to another vehicle that day was low.
