That model was made from 1956 to 1961, so I'm gonna GUESS the earlier ones may have been 6 Volt (+) ground and the later ones 12 Volt (-) ground, so you're gonna have to figure out what you've actually got.
Look for clues, the shape of the battery box, if 12 Volts, it will likely be more rectangular, and note which of the cables appears to have the larger (+) terminal hole, the I.D. tags on the starter and generator (IF the originals are still there) likely will give voltage. Probably Delcos, I.D tags on 6 Volt units had a black background, 12 Volt units had an I.D. tag with a red background, plus Volts was listed.
Also, does the coil look original? Any numbers on it?
If equipped with lights, bulbs should have industry-standard part numbers on them and maybe even be marked with their voltage.
