I've been able to rescue a few over the years by turning them off right away, opening them up and removing batteries/cards etc and drying them slowly on a cookie sheet on the lowest setting in the oven.
Don't heat the battery if you can help it.
If you can't remove the battery use a lamp light with a 60-100w bulb and warm it overnight or till the moisture is gone.
Then attempt to recharge after it is cool and then power up.
The key is not TOO hot. I try to keep it to where I can pick it up and hold it without having to set it down.
I like the idea of rice. Haven't tried that one yet myself but might next time.
