So after having my radiator tanks for 3 weeks, the welder I finally found tells me that the upper and lower tanks keep cracking due to the large amount of corrosion and the metal being so thin, due to the corrosion. The holes are filled, but the tanks leak badly from the hairline cracks. He says he has a lot of experience welding cast, and the reviews I have seen for him seem to back that up. He apologized for the problems and said he had a lot of time involved, and asked for $100.00 to cover his time, the original estimate for the repairs was $200.00. It was hard enough to find someone in my area that would even do cast welding, any opinions on weather or not I should try to get a second opinion and try to salvage these tanks????. Waste of time????. A Deere salvage yard I spoke with this morning can ship me a set of tanks"Used good condition" for $500.00, nothing in the local area at all. Going to think about starting a go fund me for myself :( ...Tom
