A college degree is only as valid as 1) the subject of study and 2) the college that issued it. It also is not the catch all some think it is. If you have a degree in say law it does not make an expert in say medicine. Also if you have a degree in a given field there is very good chance you were already smart in said area of study. You simply wanted to know more and be "qualified" so that you could get a career in said field of study.
