I fugure blow-by cost me about 500 bucks on the sale of a tractor one time. IH 504 diesel with loader, it ran and started OK, and didn't have noticeable blow-by at normal speeds. But the moron who drove it by the auction stands had it at full throttle on a dry day, and the downward pointing blow-by tube kicked up so much dust you could hardly see. Guys in the stands were laughing, it ended up bringing 1500 instead of the 2000 I expected.
