: : : Friend has a 460 Farmall that has trouble with the carb icing even at 40 degrees. Any surefire remedies? TIA : Use ethanol blend gas. Hi, I don't think ethanol blended gas will keep you carb from icing. I will keep you gasoline from freezing. Two different things. The modern automobile uses a heater that gets heat from the exhaust manifold to warm the air prior to entering the carburator. I believe most 460's had a air cleaner above the hood. This would be nice plowing a field on a august afternoon but less than ideal in the winter. Try fixing something up to get some air from around the exhaust manifold. Later
