O'Reilly bought out the local Murray's chain a few years back. Murray's wasn't great, but they were better than O'Reilly. That said, O'Reilly is probably the best store within a short drive of me. NAPA closed up a few years ago; they had a nice store but short hours and a poor location. So my choices are O'Reilly, AutoZone and Advance. If I want to get name-brand parts (e.g. Wagner brake pads) I go to O'Reilly. But for anything else, I often go to AutoZone just because it's a mile closer and the staff is helpful. I did have to explain what "ignition points" are to a (female) AutoZone employee. Of course they didn't have any in stock, but neither did O'Reilly or Advance.
