I used to have same problem with my Pasquali tractor. Found out when that happened that I needed to turn the steering wheel a but to adjust things, then would slide right off. Keep in mind, Pasquali tractors have articulated steering.
If your cutter is sitting more to one side than the other, then there might not be enough room to get one of the pins off. Once the first pin is off, try pulling the cutter to the other side a bit. Pay attention to the lift arms throughout all this. Maybe the lift arms are a bit short for that machine?
