last drove the tractor about a month ago. it's been too rainy and clay muddy to drive without the chance of getting stuck, and I got stuck once and don't want that to happen again. now it's muddy and icy and snowy, so done until next year. kind of miss driving that nice red tractor, working the dirt. so instead, I went to Fleet Farm yesterday and bought another tractor shirt. I bought one in summer and it turned into my very favorite shirt, so I was hoping they had one left so I could have two favorite shirts, and they did! One left in my size. Also bought my first pair of overalls. Carhart with double front leg denim. Every tractor driver should be wearing overalls, right? Wait, that could be a hazard with the shoulder straps. Well, I'm more than careful with the implements, turning off the tractor to hook and unhook. I'm wearing the overalls next year. I'm going to take off those useless arm rests so I don't get hung up on them. And, I have no interest in toys, but had the urge to buy a Farmall 1086 model tractor with a hay wagon, and even had green bales of hay. Haha! $50. No. That urge to buy that passed. Mostly. That was a cute little toy. Was picturing it on the coffe table in the livingroom for the winter. No, no, don't need it. Of course, while at Fleet Farm, had to get a few snacks: Tillamook jerky and a pecan log. And half pecans for making pies soon. I don't get "to town" much to big stores, so that was fun.

Today's Featured Article - Restoring a John Deere 2010 Diesel Tractor - by Jim Nielsen. Following seven years working in California's Silicon Valley, my wife, baby son and I moved back to Australia to retire. We bought a small 'farm' of about 50 acres near Bendigo, in the state of Victoria. I soon found that it would be very useful to have a tractor around the place for things such as grading our long drive and brush-hogging the fields. I was also embarking on planting 1000 eucalyptus trees, and hence I would need a ripper, small disk plow, sprayer etc. to get these things accompli ... [Read Article]
